Home to the Players Amateur Championship, a prestigious invitation only tournament for the finest amateur golfers in the world, the West course is a spectacular blend of Tom Fazio's best design and the alluring beauty of the Lowcountry. When the course opened in 1996 LINKS Magazine gushed, "(This masterpiece) could be the finest set of golf holes in the Lowcountry, if not the East Coast." The practice facility is second to none, with many bunkered target greens, a huge practice putting green, chipping green and practice bunker. The practice facility is also home to senior PGA star Jim Ferree's Learning Center.

The East Course is a perfect compliment to Tom Fazio's original West Course at Belfair, as these two beauties bare little similarities other than the designer's name. The East Course has a more Scottish links style where Fazio has utilized more native grasses and bunkering as hazards. The greens are Crenshaw Bent, and typically play a little faster than most of the Bermuda hybrids that are so prevalent in the Lowcountry. In comparison to the East course, the fairways are a little wider but more rolling and the greens tend to be a little larger with more undulation.
